Check your phone supports eSIM

Some carrier-branded Samsung models sold in the US have eSIM disabled by firmware — check with the carrier if you bought it on a plan.

Other Android brands
Motorola, OnePlus, Xiaomi, Oppo and others follow the Pixel path with slightly different names: Settings → Mobile network / SIM card & mobile network → Add eSIM / Download SIM. Roaming must be enabled on the eSIM line on every brand.
Common problems
- "Couldn’t download" during install: check Wi-Fi and try again — the activation server occasionally times out.
- Installed but no data: the eSIM line is not selected for mobile data, or roaming is off.
- Phone asks for a confirmation code: only if your eSIM provider set one — eSIM BFF does not.
